Ruth Reichl was on NPR Radio this morning discussing the release of her new book. For years, I loved reading her food articles in the New York Times. She has a homey touch that's still sophisticated. I am comfortable with her style like a cozy favorite pillow.
Her new book, Not Becoming My Mother: And Other Things She Taught Me Along the Way. By Ruth Reichl. Penguin, 112 pp., $19.95., sounds like a fine study of our moms. They wanted us to be more than they were allowed to be. They were humble enough to let us succeed.
